Wondered what Trompe L'Oeil was Liz until I looked it up!! Ah, that's what it is, an illusion. When we were visiting Milan Cathedral 2 weeks ago, the guide pointed to a painted ceiling which looked like it had been carved. Very interesting, I shall be on the lookout now for others.

Yes, Very interesting isn't it Irene. It's similar to Escher's work,which I really like.
